DA, voDA! Exhibition of works submitted to the tender for the design of objects intended for consumption of Zagreb water

On Tuesday, 15 January 2019 at 18:00 hours in Oris Kuća arhitekture there will be the exhibition DA, voDA! This is an exhibition of works submitted to the tender for the design of objects intended for consumption of Zagreb water.

 

The tender honouring the 140th anniversary of the Zagreb water supply was announced by City of Zagreb, Zagreb Holding Ltd. and Vodoopskrba i odvodnja Ltd. With this tender Croatia has made progress in designing, cultivating and evaluating water as a key natural resource.

The tender for the design of objects intended for consumption of Zagreb water was prompted by the design of a system consisting of glasses, bottles, jugs, thermo bottles, ice molds, innovative water-consuming objects and appurtenant packaging of those objects.

The intention was to identically and symbolically identify those objects with a unique natural resource - drinking water from the Zagreb water supply.

 

The awarding of aforementioned assignments enabled the production of objects that promote the consumption of drinking water from the tap in Zagreb and especially encourage the preservation of this valuable natural resource.

 

The purpose of this entire project was the affirmation of Croatian design. The award-winning assignments confirm the excellence of Croatian designers. The items will be created and serve as best possible ambassadors of national creativity and skill of professional design that occupies an increasingly important place on the map of the world's top design. Objects will be used both in Croatia and abroad. The purpose of the tender is to enable the creation of a set of objects that will strengthen the recognition of one of the key natural resources of Zagreb, aimed for citizens to further increase its value and encourage them to preserve it. The objects will be used in the public institutions of the City of Zagreb, such as kindergartens, schools, homes for the elderly and medical centres, as well as protocol gifts. Zagreb's values and Croatian design are thus presented in a unique synergy on the national and international scene.
